Victorian State Government supports UROP II with new grant
Bio21 Australia is pleased to announce receipt of an award of $188,000 for the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) from the Victorian State Government, through the Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development. The funding will be used in 2007-2009 for the administration of UROP by Bio21 Australia Ltd. UROP aims to complement other Government infrastructure initiatives in the health, biotechnology and medical research sector by providing critical training for young researchers of the future and broadening the skills base in the sector. To date 138 students have participated through 25 institutions over the 3 years of the previous grant. Bio21 Australia thanks the Victorian Government and Minister John Brumby for backing this valuable scheme. |
